Leaving Eger, the EuroVelo 14 route crosses the softly rolling, volcanic landscape of the Bükkalja before descending into the flat, open plains of eastern Hungary. Quiet villages line the way, connected by long straight roads, meadows and scattered groves. Near Tiszafüred, the scenery transitions to the riverbanks of the Tisza and the lakeside environment of Lake Tisza, known for its rich wildlife and broad water surfaces.
