Leaving the quiet riverside of Tiszacsege, the route crosses the open plains of the Hortobágy, marked by traditional wells, grazing herds and rich birdlife. The terrain remains flat and easy to ride, passing through peaceful villages and wide horizons. As Debrecen approaches, the landscape becomes increasingly urban before entering the spacious squares, parks and historic centre of the city. Debrecen marks the end of the EuroVelo 14 route.
